C. J. Bolland

C. J. Bolland (born Christian Jay Bolland) is an electronic music producer and remixer. To date Bolland has released over 40 twelve inches, made 3 albums and done over 70 remixers, making him one of the most prolific producers in the history of electronic music.

C.J. Bolland received an early education in dance music with his parents running a club in Antwerp, Belgium. His mother DJ’d and exposed him to the synthesized sounds of Jean-Michel Jarre and Neon Judgement, and by the late 80’s Bolland found himself producing Techno and House music, and at 17 years of age he had signed his first record deal.

It was Bolland’s 1996 released single ‘Sugar Is Sweeter’ that he is most well known for though, with it reaching #1 in the United States Hot Dance Music/Club Play Chart. The single featured on over 100 dance compilations worldwide including Ministry of Sound Classics and Ministry of Sound Mashed 4.

Bolland also had a club hit with his track ‘The Prophet’ which samples Willem Defoe in Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ.

Bolland is also a prolific remixer with a long resumé, including songs by Orbital, Depeche Mode, Moby, The Prodigy, Sven Vath and Tori Amos.
