Kilter - No Games (feat. Gill Bates)

After a huge year touring the globe and hitting #1 on the iTunes Electronic chart with his debut album Through The Distortion, Kilter now returns with new single No Games featuring Brisbane-based Sudanese migrant Gill Bates. Adapted from the 2008 dancehall hit of the same name, Kilter's signature production prowess and Gill Bates' vocal flavour bring a fresh new take on Serani's cult classic. On the track, Kilter says "during a late night dig through reggaeton records I connected with the vocals from this old Serani track and smashed out a demo based on some of the parts. I had been a fan of Gill for a while and knew he had the right vibe to bring my idea to life. I'm really happy with where the record ended up- a wonky banger with a strong nod to it's reggae roots. A few months later I brought Gil out to perform it live at Splendour In The Grass and was one of the highlights of the show." Check out Kilter and Gill Bates performing No Games live in 360° at Splendour In The Grass here. With his previous singles 'I Hear You','Count On Me feat. LANKS', 'Fool For You' and 'They Don't Know Us' all getting millions of spins online, Kilter has developed a global audience which saw him undertake his debut headline tour of the US and Canada in 2017, as well as touring through Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. No Games has also attracted attention from DJs and producers from across the globe, with remixes from Norwegian producer and NLV Records signing Hi Tom, Brazilian house aficionado Bruno Furlan and Croatian producer Koolade, as well as local club heroes Colour Castle & Blanke.

Vangelis Kostoxenakis - Pay My Bills

We always love welcoming new talent to Dirtybird, especially when it's the new Vangelis Kostoxenakis "Pay My Bills" EP. Low end rhythm, funky bassline, tough beats, quirky synths and a ghetto vocal repeating "you betta pay my bills, fool" on loop —all the elements to make one of those hot tracks that live outside of the trends.

Speaking on the track Jax says "I'm so gassed to release 'Breathe'. Working with the likes of Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don has been such a dream come true for me and now, working with Ina fulfils another one. Not only is she an incredible vocalist, but she's one of the best and most successful songwriters in the game today. When we were in the studio together, I couldn't imagine anyone else in the world who could deliver the emotion her voice adds to the track and I'm so happy she's agreed to be a part of this record. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do."

Timmy Trumpet & Savage - Deja-Vu

When Australian DJ Timmy Trumpet first teamed up with New Zealand MC Savage in 2014, the resulting track "Freaks" well and truly took the world by storm. 150 million Spotify streams and a plethora of platinum records later, the duo has made magic again, this time with "Deja-Vu". The pounding bass line and huge drop teamed with Savage's unmistakable vocals combine for a belter of a track, ready to take over clubs and festivals everywhere from Down Under to the Northern Hemisphere. Timmy Trumpet, whose relentless international touring schedule saw him jump up a massive 37 spots in the recent DJ Mag Top 100 poll to #43, explains how the track came together: "Freaks" was a game changing record for me, opening up a whole new audience to my music. Savage is THE MAN and I knew I wanted to work with him again ever since we first got in the studio. We've been trying to get a collab going for a while now so I'm glad this is finally happening!" Savage explains why he just had to work with Timmy again: "Timmy is definitely one of the most driven artist/producers that I have worked with, so when he approached me for this record I went to work straight away. I did my own remix of his "Toca" record he put out with Carnage a while ago and he had asked if I could use some of those lyrics for this one. I know Timmy has worked hard for a long time to nail the final version and now it's here I look forward to performing "Deja-Vu" live with the bro sometime soon!"

'Cos it's Only U & Me' is almost a love story, but in its darkest, most messed up form possible. I've been opening my sets with 'Legion' for a little while now and it felt rude to leave it off this EP. FISHER - Oi Oi

Fisher debuted "Ya Kidding" at the beginning of the Summer and it took a life of it's own. It was perpetually in the top 10 for months, one of the most Shazamed tracks in Ibiza & UK through the festival season, took over multiple chart positions around the globe, and included an official video featuring an epic shoe-off, it became one of the biggest songs of 2017. With a track that strong as your first record, it was going to be a hard act to follow. Fortunately, Fisher's sophomore release "Oi Oi" puts all those fears to rest. Leading off the EP is "Stop It"-the already infamous 'roller coaster song' that fans ask us about daily. The marriage of the track's bassline and one sentence verse combine for an attention-grabbing single that raises the energy exponentially no matter where it's played. "Ya Didn't" adds a funky bass bounce to a heavy synth stab, and a big buildup that cements Fisher's reputation as a monster of the party.

One of the leading artists in the world music scene in Australia, Klue's last release 'Lifted' hit #1 on the World Music chart on iTunes earlier this year and saw Klue play headline shows and festivals across the country.Klue's 'Closer' tour kicked off in Perth last weekend at Collab Festival and will also see him hit Grand Poobah in Hobart, Sosueme in Bondi, and a run of festivals including Newtown Festival, Squared Senses, Wonderwalls in his hometown of Wollongong, and Subsonic Festival in December. Klue explains how the new single came together: "A lot of the time when I'm inspired to write music it's when I'm in a place or a moment where I feel particularly good and I want to capture that feeling and write it into music so I can revisit it when I perform it, and hopefully take whoever is listening to that place too. Closer was different. It started from a pretty sad place and I started writing it to try and get myself out of that place. This is the first track that I've recorded the Mbira for. It's an amazing instrument that I picked up in Zimbabwe a few years back while on tour with True Vibenation. I'm by no means a legit player of it but it has sound an amazing deep tone that I had to include it. I often play it to go to sleep at night, but recently I've been starting to record it more so you can expect to see it coming out at some of the upcoming live shows. The Pringles tin has made a comeback too."Having been tipped as a 'One To Watch' by tastemakers including Hermitude, inthemix and Purple Sneakers, Klue's single 'Hiding', from his debut EP 'Daybreak', surpassed half a million streams online, reached #3 on the Triple J Unearthed charts and was added to Double J. Walker & Royce - Self Help

"If you want something done right, sometimes you just have to do it yourself". In a world filled with false gurus and misguided leaders, so goes the mantra of the New York duo Walker & Royce. After a swift rise in recent years – during which time they pioneered a sound that is often imitated but never replicated – Sam Walker and Gavin Royce have used this mantra as the impetus for their debut album "Self Help", on their label home Dirtybird. In order to grow, one often has to look inward, and the pair set out on a trail of self-discovery and advancement. Their journey has resulted in a diverse album that evokes a range of emotion and fervor, one that can be appreciated both on the way to a club as well as feverishly dancing to it in one. Walker & Royce's signature production is in exceptional form on their solo tracks, such as "Why Tho", "Warkin It", "Best Track Ever" and "Sunday". The way they contrast heavy, low-end bass and beats with pristine melodies arises from the first thing they ask themselves when they fire up their studio: "Will we play this?" The pair has also continued to push the boundaries of their minted formula for a bigger purpose, enlisting several distinct vocalists and collaborators to captivating effect. The legendary Green Velvet lends his vocal talent to "Rub Anotha Dub", and longtime friend Dances With White Girls appear on two memorable tracks, including the hit single "Take Me To Your Leader". Other collaborators such as Sophie Grophy, OnCue, Forrest and JPatt each introduce their own individual elements to the album, rounding out the varied tones and feelings that comprise the "Self Help" masterpiece. The road to self-discovery is filled with many bumps and obstacles, but with "Self Help", Walker & Royce have proven that they've got the keys and in the driver's seat.

For 'Hypnotised' Luke collaborated with Australian group Last Dinosaurs following a conversation with the boys on a rooftop bar. Featuring Luke's fellow partner in groove, Touch Sensitive, on bass, the track captures how infectious the vibe can be when you don't have a care in the world. Track three of the EP, 'Alive', features vocals up and coming Melbourne vocalist Fluir. Experiencing an instant chemistry when they got into the studio, 'Alive' is about letting go of anything that might be holding you back. 'Return' to Transylvania' is a sequel to Luke's 2014 single 'Transylvania Disco'. Filled with vintage drum machines and at least ten of Luke's favourite synths, the track is a dark and hypnotic journey to the world of vampires and mysterious lands. For 'Killing Me Softly', Luke teams up with previous Triple J Unearthed winner Thief. Written about the rollercoaster of addiction, be that a bad relationship or otherwise, the track once again features Touch Sensitive on bass, and also Timothy Lockwood on guitar, bringing a live element to the song. The retro video was filmed between Los Angeles and Australia and was premiered by Flaunt Magazine. Luke surprised his fans during his Splendour set by bringing Sam on stage to perform the track live. Sonically, it's quite literally distorted in a lot of places while all the music pushes through the noise." Australian graphic designer and animator David Porte assisted Kilter in realising visual themes of distortion for the album's artwork. One of Australia's Top 20 Most Streamed Electronic artists, Kilter has quickly made the leap from burgeoning multi-instrumentalist to household name. Taylr Swft

He's ridden us raw with his naked piano, made our booties clap so hard we've needed medical care, shown us his titsss and he's even taken us to the mo… Wherever that is. Now Belgian wunderkind Kill Frenzy is about to flip the biggest switch of his career and whisk us away on his most exciting, most extensive dirtybird adventure yet: His long-awaited debut album Taylr Swft. Famed for his ability to carve carnal drama from one smouldering 808 sermon and a sleazy panty-dropping vocal loop, here we find Sebastian Vanschoonbeek developing his uncompromising, ghetto-bound repertoire with serious maturity, depth and class. Building on his well-established bass-laced bedrock, each of these cuts flex with dynamics that will find favour with all house and techno connoisseurs and do so with complete consistency as a whole body of work… hell, they work so well dirtybird bossman VonStroke is almost reluctant to release them. "I'm almost sad to start sharing the new Kill Frenzy album with everyone else because it has been my secret weapon all summer. At one point I was playing seven tracks from the album in the same set, it was almost embarrassing. I'm very fickle about choosing what I play and this album is amazing." Proof of Kill Frenzy's next-levelism is evident in every single direction; the cavernous thundering march of All Night Long, the bouncy techno fluctuations of Inflation, the sultry deep house dish XXX, the sheer tech tenacity and roof-burning electro-fication of Lava, the delicate jazz keys and purring sub bass of So Fine… The list goes on. Press play, then press it again for good measure: debut albums often dangerously dice with displays of inconsistent dexterity, but with Taylr Swft Kill Frenzy has carefully created a collection that completely makes sense of his past work while staring guilefully into an exciting future. A bona fide dirtybird document that confirms Kill Frenzy's position as one of electronic music's boldest creators, Taylr Swft is everything you could possibly want from a modern day album: dancefloor gold, depth, range and an unswerving narrative. Get to know.

Games EP

Manchester-born and now London-based TCTS aka Sam O'Neill releases the 4-track Games EP through the burgeoning label helmed by Chase & Status , MTA Records, and now picked up by etcetc in Australia. After laying the groundwork with the These Heights EP through Joe Goddard's Greco-Roman label, the EP has picked up support from BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, with continued support from Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, B Traits, Rob Da Bank, MistaJam and Toddla T. Tastemaker music blogs have also rallied around O'Neill's EP with Pitchfork, Fader, The Sound You Need, Mixmag, Dummy and Stereogum throwing kudos at the young producer.TCTS has a habit of picking feature vocalists who are on the brink of success and Games is no exception, with sassy new talent K Stewart kicking things off on the title track, belting it out from the get go. Assertive, strutting vocals herald effervescent percussion and lush synth work for an irresistible start to the EP.You features a notable performance from Sam Sure – who has begun releasing his own material on Black Butter Records – and recently premiered by big supporter Annie Mac and leading US blog Stereogum as the first taster of this release and a #10 Hype Machine chart. A little more subdued than the opening track it's a bittersweet emotive take on an electronic love song, Sure repeating All I want is you over TCTS' signature subtle, layered production. Trust takes it back to the club, a chunky beat and classic hi-hat propelled by metallic synth stabs, while rolling closer 'Forward' is house music at its very best.

ON LY OU

What do you do when it looks like you’re finally realising your life’s dream of making it in techno; when you’re at long last turning up on the playlists of the scene’s biggest DJs and being whisked to all corners of the globe to play to packed-out, rapturous dancefloors? For Colchester based electronic producer and multi-instrumentalist Dominic Gentry aka Attaque it was the moment to hang up the headphones and make a beautiful electronica record with breathtaking songs, ethereal textures, intelligent melodies and not a single club track in sight. That record is ON LY OU – due for release on October 24th via etcetc. ON LY OU is a remarkable debut that marries Attaque’s mastery of forward-thinking electronica, shoegaze and heartfelt pop. The record seamlessly glides from the euphoric to the more intimate and emotive. A born musician and electronic music devotee since his early teens, it was in late 2011 when Gentry conceived the Attaque moniker. Radio 1 and Mixmag heaped praise on his early techno releases as he appeared on some of Europe’s coolest electronic labels: Kitsune, Turbo, Boys Noize and Bad Life, a revered Boiler Room DJ set followed soon after. It was a couple of months later after Attaque had just played his first show in Japan when he came home to the UK and realised he no longer felt inspired to make 4/4 music for 5 am dark, sweaty raves. He called time on touring and locked himself away for a full year to craft his debut artist offering. For ON LY OU, Gentry has amassed contributions from some outstanding young vocalists, with the album featuring Adam Pleas (Qtier - London), Yannick Meyer (Native Young, Cape Town) and Daniel Hunter (Analog Rebellion - Aledo, Texas). ON LY OU is an album full of ambition and promise through which Attaque succeeds in justifying his status amongst the brightest names in the electronic scene.

Beats & Business EP

Fresh from his recent Deep Down & Defected compilation, Sonny Fodera returns to DFTD with his ‘Beats & Business EP’. The dark, no-nonsense, ‘Where You At’ opens up with deep penetrating kicks, offset with subtle vocals leading you to exactly where the party is at. ‘Let Me Be’ on the other hand is a groovy bassy affair, demonstrating once again the deep diversity of one of the scenes most prolific underground and technical producers.

Deep Down & Defected EP

Taken from his forthcoming Deep Down & Defected mix compilation Australian producer and Defected regular, Sonny Fodera, presents an exploration into the deeper side of house music, showcasing a three-track sampler featuring his brand new remixes of Reboot, Huxley & Shenoda and Johnny Corporate. Introducing itself with some thudding kicks and a crawling bass line, ‘Enjoy Music’ drives the diva vibe straight to the heart of the dance floor with its simple yet infectious vocal play. Soundscaping synth chords stretch gently as the room seems to get little darker with Huxley & Shenoda ‘Premier’ (Sonny Fodera Remix), and the bass drops heavily delivering an unexpected detonation of after-hour sensuality. Fodera’s remix of Johnny Corporate ‘Sunday Shoutin’ starts strong blending big gospel vocals with a bouncy bass line and piano arpeggio, while symphonic strings drive and emotions rise as Sonny gets down and definitely deep.

For Club Play Only Vol. 3

The prodigal DUKE returns to the club after three UK #1 singles ‘Need U (100%)’, ‘I Got U’ and ‘Wont Look Back’. Getting a number one single is an extraordinary achievement. Getting two is a whole other level...3…that shit cray. Even KLF, who literally wrote the book on how to write a #1 hit (The Manual) only managed to do it once. Duke Dumont's talent was first recognized in 2007 when Tiga signed his Regality EP, and further developed through the mentorship of Switch , but for years he seemed destined to stay under-the-radar, another brilliant artist toiling in relative obscurity, his fantastic remixes working wonders on dance-floors while his name was a footnote to the success of bigger names. All that started to change in 2012 with For Club Play Only Vol I & II through Tiga’s imprint Turbo, with 'Street Walker' getting a swell of underground support and 'The Giver' following up as one of the crossover club hits of the year. His follow-up launch of the Blasé Boys Club label with the #1 hit 'Need U (100%)' propelled him to instant stardom, and incredibly he managed to follow-up in rapid fire with interim single ' Hold On ' and then a second #1 in ‘ I Got U ft. Jax Jones’. It's an astonishing success story primed to continue with the forthcoming ‘ Won't Look Back'. So it comes as a welcome surprise to also get this third instalment of For Club Play Only , a return to stripped-down party bombs, with just enough hook to make the tracks unforgettable. 'Slow Dance' is a guaranteed floor-filler built from a killer bassline, sexy vocal sample, crisp drums and a wiggly acid outro. 'Mumble Man' is another infectious, instantly-gratifying hand-raiser, and possibly the best scat track since Scatman John. 'Nicht Vor Mitternacht ' sees the Duke flexing his EDM muscles, foregoing vocals for total synth domination, designed to work with the biggest hiss cannons the world has ever seen. Bonafide stadium wrecker. Finally, 'Drumapella ' is a dope DJ tool, a functional weapon to layer in the mix or leave in it's sparse banging glory.

Mr Riddlz EP

Please welcome back Chicago native Fuzzy Cufflinxx aka Mr. Riddlz aka the one and only Bear Who? The duo of Ab Logic and Jesse Simons (aka The Hoodfellas) hook up here with Bear to transform his distinctive Hip-House style into an instant floor rocker 'The Dancer'. The original is the very definition of jackin’ house, and is complimented with remixes from Berlin’s wildest of beasts, Kris Wadsworth and Canadian jackmaster, Jason Hodges. On 'I Need Dat' Bear partners up with another of his Chicago brethren, namely Milty Evans, who underpins Bear’s hip house rhymes with masterful piano and organ sounds from the soul of Chicago. Four distinctive tracks on an EP of distinctive sounds and characters.

Urban Animal (Double Edition)

After unleashing his third LP ‘Urban Animal’ in September 2013, Claude VonStroke has been carefully clawing in the work of the auspicious for the release of the ‘Urban Animal Remixes’ LP. Always presenting a label-defining sound, the ‘Urban Animal’ LP from dirtybird founder Claude VonStroke is a snapshot of the future for the San Francisco label. The Remix LP goes 1 step further and introducing tastemakers with a similar effect on the future of electronic music. Introducing Solomon, Eprom, Dixon, Jimmy Edgar, Photek, Kill Frenzy, Justin Jay, Doorly, Krust, Tanner Ross and SCNTST to the urban jungle. This crack team has bolstered the original message of the album with clarity and creativity, each one of these revisions is a clarion call to the Urban Animal in us all. Alongside news of its release through etcetc in Australia on 30th May 2014, the ‘Urban Animal Remixes’ will come bundled with a free copy of the original ‘Urban Animal LP’. Also in water is the release of the infectious ghetto-tech single ‘Lay It Down’ featuring remixes from Jimmy Edgar, Kill Frenzy, Ballast Remix + VonStroke, and an Australian exclusive remix from Wordlife.

Jax Jones - Breathe

Following his recent debut Australian tour and the success from his recent worldwide smash hit singles 'Instruction' and 'You Don't Know Me', Grammy nominated artist, songwriter and producer Jax Jones looks set to continue his winning streak with brand new single 'Breathe', out December 1st through etcetc. Jax's choice of collaborators continues to set him apart from the current crop of dance hits, having previously collaborated with artists such as Demi Lovato, Stefflon Don and BBC Sound of 2017 nominee Raye. Featuring Norwegian hit maker Ina Wroldsen , who has sold over 20 million singles as a writer for Calvin Harris (the 4 x platinum, #1 ARIA single 'How Deep Is Your Love'), Clean Bandit ('Symphony') and Anne Marie ('Rockabye') , 'Breathe' is a slow burning and addictive house record, one likely to propel him even further into the global consciousness.
