Shave :: released August 05 2011
World-renowned music producer/composer Justin Shave, known in the biz as simply Shave, has recently returned from a successful five year O/S stint working in the pop, dance music, TV and film industries.
His first breaks were with the Deep Forest-esque album Siva Pacifica and ARIA nominated Love Tattoo, whose 12” ‘Drop sum Drums’ was licensed by Positiva and from there landed on Fat Boy Slim’s Live at Brighton Beach comp. A second single from this album ‘The Bass has Got me Movin’ was lucratively licensed in Australia for a commercial. In 2003 Shave formed the house duo Etherfox with Love Tattoo vocalist Antigone and signed a latin-house 12” to Ministry of Sound called ‘The Whirled you Live’, which stormed Ibiza, was licensed by several European companies and landed on several massive dance compilations including Hed Kandi’s Beach House.
His numerous Top10 UK and Top 5 Billboard dance productions for the Hed Kandi label drew the attention of the godfather of French disco, Cerrone (‘Supernature’), for whom he produced two gold status tracks for the album, 'Celebrate' feat. house diva Katherine Ellis (of Freemasons fame). The song was chosen as the title track for the French film 'Disco' directed by Fabien Onteniente.
His expertise in the technical has led him to Berlin where he wowed Native Instruments with his custom-built music making soft-synth-come-physical-instrument, the extraordinary Okkam 01. Shave’s music production company, Uncanny Valley, has also been responsible for the sonic rebrand of Channel 10, MTV Classic, MTV Hits, ABC1,2,kids and an impressive list of music for international commercials.
