Since the inception of his live show and his exciting new style of house music, Alex Preston has become a force to be reckoned with in the world of house music. The Sydney-native utilises his skills as a virtuoso musician as he tastefully melds his signature guitar licks with disco tinged bass lines and warm pulsating house beats. 2021 is proving to be Alex Preston’s breakout year with Mark Knight labelling him as one of his favourite producers and one to watch out for in the coming months. Signing a publishing deal with Mark’s infamous Toolroom Records in 2020, Alex hit the ground running this year with a string of solid releases which has seen his name become synonymous with house music & summer vibes.

His first single release of the year, “Onda” was premiered by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 as part of the “This Is Toolroom 2021” Album. It garnered support from the likes of Claptone, Diplo, Friend Within, David Penn, Kideko, & Toolroom label-boss Mark Knight. This momentum flowed into April 2021 as Alex released his biggest single to date on Toolroom Records, “Love You Better”. Lovingly sampling Steely Dan’s “Peg”, the single was an instant hit and became one of the tracks of the UK/ European Summer for 2021. It spent 12 weeks in the Beatport House Top 10 and achieved a high point of #3 and #10 overall. “Love You Better” also had 7 prime time plays on BBC Radio 1, as well as being on high rotation on Mistajam’s Capital Dance for 6 weeks, and on GeorgeFM in New Zealand.

It was the most played record on GeorgeFM New Zealand for 2 weeks and hit the #1 Dance spot on Apple Music as well as the Viral Top 50 on Spotify NZ. It also spent several weeks inside the Top 5 Most Played Records on 1001Tracklists picking up support from a plethora of international heavyweight DJs that includes names such as Claptone, Armin Van Buuren, Jax Jones, Low Steppa, Floorplan, Mistajam, Mark Knight to name a few. With his first full album in the works and a swag of singles & collaborations already lined up for the rest of 2021, Alex Preston will look to continue to build on the momentum his music has generated!
