Digitalism - Holograms

German producers and DJs Jens Moelle and Ismail Tufekci, AKA Digitalism , have unveiled their hotly anticipated production 'Holograms' taken from their latest EP, 'Zdar C1u6' – the name in reference to their club hit 'Zdarlight'. Showcasing their rich electronica sounds across the release, the Hamburg duo lace the production with an atmospheric vocal and swells of synth-based chords, diving deep into the core Digitalism sound they've become so famed for. Taken from the second EP ( ' Zdar C1u6 ' ) in their mini series, the single follows the success of 'Jet' which recently hit over 1 million Spotify streams , and their 2017 ' 5KY11GHT' EP, which featured the melodic masterpiece ' Highspeed Sunrise ' and dreamy synth-laden ' Spektrum2000 '. With Jence back on vocals for the track, he said "We're not only exploring how thin the line between reality and the virtual realm has become, but also musically entering a territory that feels new but very comfortable for us at the same time. It's like a slingshot into something super exciting." Starting their career in 2001, producing vibrant live sets, the Digitalism boys soon signed to Kitsune, with their release 'Zdarlight' still acting as one of their most famed to this day. Following up the release with 'Jupiter Room' from their 'Idealism' album, Digitalism soon became synonymous with their unique and original electronic productions, a crossover sound with roots found in both indie and techno. The album, now celebrating a decade since release, became an instant classic in the indie electro scene, establishing Digitalism as one of the biggest acts in the genre, alongside notable acts such as Simian Mobile Disco, Justice, and Boys Noize. Their 2011 track 'Blitz', taken from the 'I Love You, Dude' album has so far amassed over 7 million Spotify streams whilst 2016 album 'Mirage' birthed popular track 'Destination Breakdown', which later went on to receive remix treatments from the likes of Gerd Janson and Alex Gopher. Having showcased their first EP from their own label, Magnetism , with a special live stream of each track across social media, 'Holograms' embodies the crisp and cleverly crafted sounds that make Jens and Ismail so unique, and demonstrates their continued innovation and ever-evolving sound over the course of the past decade.

Paces - Going Mad feat. CLYPSO & Raven Felix

With his 2017 single 'Savage' featuring NYNE about to crack 8 million Spotify plays, Gold Coast producer Paces launches into 2018 with 'Going Mad' featuring rising Australian talent CLYPSO and US rapper Raven Felix, who is signed to Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang label. 'Going Mad' is the next taste of Paces' upcoming second album and was co-written with Tkay Maidza who Paces worked with on her Hottest 100-charting track 'Switch Lanes'. Paces, aka Mikey Perry, explains how 'Going Mad' came about: "I really enjoy the process of writing music, watching a track evolve from one thing to something completely different is so fun for me. 'Going Mad' was a particularly fun rabbit-hole to go down and along the way I got to work with three female artists who I really admire! The track began with a sample I took of my friend opening a can of energy drink. I'd also been recording some of the "Ooooh-ahhh" sounds that my then-newborn son Koa had been making. Around that time I met up with Tkay for a session. It was a super fun day and we came up with some really cool stuff but the timing wasn't right for us to be releasing a single together. I ended up keeping her "Oh - Oh" lines during the intro which really set the tone of the track. Next I showed it to CLYPSO who's an emerging singer/songwriter/producer from Sydney who I'm a massive fan of. She sent me a demo of that hook and I was sold. The final piece was Raven Felix's verse. Raven is a rapper from the States who's been doing big things lately. Her bars were a perfect fit for the track, I'm so happy we were able to work together on this one!" Paces will be taking his high energy live show on the road over the next few months including playing St Kilda Festival, Mountain Sounds Festival and headlining Secret Garden Festival. Paces will then head to the US to embark on his debut US tour. Having signed to Republic Records in New York (home to multi-platinum artists like Drake, The Weeknd and Lorde) in mid-2017, 'Savage' has just been re-released with a new feature from Atlanta rapper Nessly, confirming Paces' global push in 2018.

Fever Ray - Wanna Sip

'Wanna Sip' is the opening track from Fever Ray's long-awaited sophomore album 'Plunge'. Eight years is a long time and the transition of Karin Dreijer are evident in the spectral electronica, and the hauntingly beautiful record about death, depression and motherhood. Non-conformance of gender stereotypes and sexually-charged language drive the themes of the album, which are no less evident in 'Wanna Sip' "I'm kinda hooked on your scent," she sings on the frantic track. "Something made a little opening / I wanna come inside." Swedish producer Sissel Wincent delivers a very rare remix for Fever Ray. An industrial techno vision concurrent with the remerging art scene emanating in tastemaker pockets around the world. Sissel Wincent part of the Drömfakulteten collective, a group founded to promote and support the work of women and trans in electronic music.

Ilan explains how the track came together: "We fired up the studio and this number sort of cooked itself. Nothing was planned, but from the beginning 'Keep On Loving' just fell right in the pocket. It's not often that you get to use the full range of your voice on a track and there were times where apparently I'd make Fight Club faces reaching the big notes. We had a great laugh doing what turned out to be a pretty serious track. We love music for that. What can sound like a raging summer festival explosion on the outside, therein lies a delicate but quietly hopeful, tender little song when you look in."

Adapted from the 2008 dancehall hit of the same name, Kilter's signature production prowess and Gill Bates' vocal flavour bring a fresh new take on Serani's cult classic. On the track, Kilter says "during a late night dig through reggaeton records I connected with the vocals from this old Serani track and smashed out a demo based on some of the parts. I had been a fan of Gill for a while and knew he had the right vibe to bring my idea to life. I'm really happy with where the record ended up- a wonky banger with a strong nod to it's reggae roots. A few months later I brought Gil out to perform it live at Splendour In The Grass and was one of the highlights of the show." Check out Kilter and Gill Bates performing No Games live in 360° at Splendour In The Grass here. With his previous singles 'I Hear You','Count On Me feat. Jaysounds - Nightfall

JaySounds unveils the final pieces to his Nightfall EP. Accompanying the successful club singles 'Wasted feat. Enya Angel' & 'Crooked feat Kwame', Jay unveils Only U & Legion. Jay writes: "To me, Only U is my finest example of 'Warehouse Bass'. I started with the drop, but it felt like the track needed a theme. 'Cos it's Only U & Me' is almost a love story, but in its darkest, most messed up form possible. I've been opening my sets with 'Legion' for a little while now and it felt rude to leave it off this EP. The cinematic theme in this track reminded me of a legion of soldiers and I wanted to demonstrate a clear contrast between real music in the breaks and dark, dirty drops."

Walker & Royce - Self Help

"If you want something done right, sometimes you just have to do it yourself". In a world filled with false gurus and misguided leaders, so goes the mantra of the New York duo Walker & Royce. After a swift rise in recent years – during which time they pioneered a sound that is often imitated but never replicated – Sam Walker and Gavin Royce have used this mantra as the impetus for their debut album "Self Help", on their label home Dirtybird. In order to grow, one often has to look inward, and the pair set out on a trail of self-discovery and advancement. Their journey has resulted in a diverse album that evokes a range of emotion and fervor, one that can be appreciated both on the way to a club as well as feverishly dancing to it in one. Walker & Royce's signature production is in exceptional form on their solo tracks, such as "Why Tho", "Warkin It", "Best Track Ever" and "Sunday". The way they contrast heavy, low-end bass and beats with pristine melodies arises from the first thing they ask themselves when they fire up their studio: "Will we play this?" The pair has also continued to push the boundaries of their minted formula for a bigger purpose, enlisting several distinct vocalists and collaborators to captivating effect. The legendary Green Velvet lends his vocal talent to "Rub Anotha Dub", and longtime friend Dances With White Girls appear on two memorable tracks, including the hit single "Take Me To Your Leader". Other collaborators such as Sophie Grophy, OnCue, Forrest and JPatt each introduce their own individual elements to the album, rounding out the varied tones and feelings that comprise the "Self Help" masterpiece. The road to self-discovery is filled with many bumps and obstacles, but with "Self Help", Walker & Royce have proven that they've got the keys and in the driver's seat.

For 'Hypnotised' Luke collaborated with Australian group Last Dinosaurs following a conversation with the boys on a rooftop bar. Featuring Luke's fellow partner in groove, Touch Sensitive, on bass, the track captures how infectious the vibe can be when you don't have a care in the world. Track three of the EP, 'Alive', features vocals up and coming Melbourne vocalist Fluir. Experiencing an instant chemistry when they got into the studio, 'Alive' is about letting go of anything that might be holding you back. 'Return' to Transylvania' is a sequel to Luke's 2014 single 'Transylvania Disco'. Filled with vintage drum machines and at least ten of Luke's favourite synths, the track is a dark and hypnotic journey to the world of vampires and mysterious lands. For 'Killing Me Softly', Luke teams up with previous Triple J Unearthed winner Thief. Written about the rollercoaster of addiction, be that a bad relationship or otherwise, the track once again features Touch Sensitive on bass, and also Timothy Lockwood on guitar, bringing a live element to the song. 'Back To The Rhythm' is an upbeat groove that harks back to the days of Paradise Garage. Written with Sam Sparro in his adopted hometown of LA, the track is about going back to a time and place when everything felt good. The retro video was filmed between Los Angeles and Australia and was premiered by Flaunt Magazine. Luke surprised his fans during his Splendour set by bringing Sam on stage to perform the track live. The final track on the EP, 'Fear The Night' is a blending of two opposite worlds with Luke's signature '80s synth elements and the brooding vocals of Adelaide vocalist Jesse Davidson.

Contemplative tones soothe on the Woodes featured "Waste Time" and darker slow turning "Badai", before the high whistled call out of "I Hear You".Kilter: "The best way to make something new is to break something old - or at least that's what I have found with my music. The idea of pushing sounds until they become something different and exciting is at the centre of the creative process behind this album. Sonically, it's quite literally distorted in a lot of places while all the music pushes through the noise." Australian graphic designer and animator David Porte assisted Kilter in realising visual themes of distortion for the album's artwork. One of Australia's Top 20 Most Streamed Electronic artists, Kilter has quickly made the leap from burgeoning multi-instrumentalist to household name. Taylr Swft

He's ridden us raw with his naked piano, made our booties clap so hard we've needed medical care, shown us his titsss and he's even taken us to the mo… Wherever that is. Now Belgian wunderkind Kill Frenzy is about to flip the biggest switch of his career and whisk us away on his most exciting, most extensive dirtybird adventure yet: His long-awaited debut album Taylr Swft. Famed for his ability to carve carnal drama from one smouldering 808 sermon and a sleazy panty-dropping vocal loop, here we find Sebastian Vanschoonbeek developing his uncompromising, ghetto-bound repertoire with serious maturity, depth and class. Building on his well-established bass-laced bedrock, each of these cuts flex with dynamics that will find favour with all house and techno connoisseurs and do so with complete consistency as a whole body of work… hell, they work so well dirtybird bossman VonStroke is almost reluctant to release them. "I'm almost sad to start sharing the new Kill Frenzy album with everyone else because it has been my secret weapon all summer. At one point I was playing seven tracks from the album in the same set, it was almost embarrassing. I'm very fickle about choosing what I play and this album is amazing." Proof of Kill Frenzy's next-levelism is evident in every single direction; the cavernous thundering march of All Night Long, the bouncy techno fluctuations of Inflation, the sultry deep house dish XXX, the sheer tech tenacity and roof-burning electro-fication of Lava, the delicate jazz keys and purring sub bass of So Fine… The list goes on. Press play, then press it again for good measure: debut albums often dangerously dice with displays of inconsistent dexterity, but with Taylr Swft Kill Frenzy has carefully created a collection that completely makes sense of his past work while staring guilefully into an exciting future. A bona fide dirtybird document that confirms Kill Frenzy's position as one of electronic music's boldest creators, Taylr Swft is everything you could possibly want from a modern day album: dancefloor gold, depth, range and an unswerving narrative. Get to know.

Tastemaker music blogs have also rallied around O'Neill's EP with Pitchfork, Fader, The Sound You Need, Mixmag, Dummy and Stereogum throwing kudos at the young producer.TCTS has a habit of picking feature vocalists who are on the brink of success and Games is no exception, with sassy new talent K Stewart kicking things off on the title track, belting it out from the get go. Assertive, strutting vocals herald effervescent percussion and lush synth work for an irresistible start to the EP.You features a notable performance from Sam Sure – who has begun releasing his own material on Black Butter Records – and recently premiered by big supporter Annie Mac and leading US blog Stereogum as the first taster of this release and a #10 Hype Machine chart. A little more subdued than the opening track it's a bittersweet emotive take on an electronic love song, Sure repeating All I want is you over TCTS' signature subtle, layered production. Trust takes it back to the club, a chunky beat and classic hi-hat propelled by metallic synth stabs, while rolling closer 'Forward' is house music at its very best.

Kilter - No Games (feat. Gill Bates)

After a huge year touring the globe and hitting #1 on the iTunes Electronic chart with his debut album Through The Distortion, Kilter now returns with new single No Games featuring Brisbane-based Sudanese migrant Gill Bates. Featuring Norwegian hit maker Ina Wroldsen , who has sold over 20 million singles as a writer for Calvin Harris (the 4 x platinum, #1 ARIA single 'How Deep Is Your Love'), Clean Bandit ('Symphony') and Anne Marie ('Rockabye') , 'Breathe' is a slow burning and addictive house record, one likely to propel him even further into the global consciousness. Speaking on the track Jax says "I'm so gassed to release 'Breathe'. Working with the likes of Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don has been such a dream come true for me and now, working with Ina fulfils another one. Not only is she an incredible vocalist, but she's one of the best and most successful songwriters in the game today. When we were in the studio together, I couldn't imagine anyone else in the world who could deliver the emotion her voice adds to the track and I'm so happy she's agreed to be a part of this record. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do."

Vangelis Kostoxenakis - Pay My Bills

We always love welcoming new talent to Dirtybird, especially when it's the new Vangelis Kostoxenakis "Pay My Bills" EP. Low end rhythm, funky bassline, tough beats, quirky synths and a ghetto vocal repeating "you betta pay my bills, fool" on loop —all the elements to make one of those hot tracks that live outside of the trends.

Paul Dluxx & Vengeance - Switchbass

Timmy Trumpet & Savage - Deja-Vu

When Australian DJ Timmy Trumpet first teamed up with New Zealand MC Savage in 2014, the resulting track "Freaks" well and truly took the world by storm. 150 million Spotify streams and a plethora of platinum records later, the duo has made magic again, this time with "Deja-Vu". The pounding bass line and huge drop teamed with Savage's unmistakable vocals combine for a belter of a track, ready to take over clubs and festivals everywhere from Down Under to the Northern Hemisphere. Timmy Trumpet, whose relentless international touring schedule saw him jump up a massive 37 spots in the recent DJ Mag Top 100 poll to #43, explains how the track came together: "Freaks" was a game changing record for me, opening up a whole new audience to my music. Savage is THE MAN and I knew I wanted to work with him again ever since we first got in the studio. We've been trying to get a collab going for a while now so I'm glad this is finally happening!" Savage explains why he just had to work with Timmy again: "Timmy is definitely one of the most driven artist/producers that I have worked with, so when he approached me for this record I went to work straight away. I did my own remix of his "Toca" record he put out with Carnage a while ago and he had asked if I could use some of those lyrics for this one. I know Timmy has worked hard for a long time to nail the final version and now it's here I look forward to performing "Deja-Vu" live with the bro sometime soon!"
