Chalrz - Colours

"I don't think I've harassed an artist to put out a song more than I have with 'Colors'. I still remember hearing the demo Charlie sent me, which could have been recorded on the oldest laptop in the history of the galaxy, and being floored.Charlz is a very special artist and I'm so excited for people to hear this music."– M-PhazesLight, silvery, yet it fills—and stills—a room, Charlz' dusky voice comes from a place of deep honesty. In her latest single, 'Colors', it takes a leading role. Full of quiet intensity, the song breathes with emotion, a delicate dance of harmonies in which Charlz' captivating vocals are both principal and corps. The second release on new Australian imprint Risqué, 'Colors' was born from collaboration with ARIA Award-winning producer M-Phazes, best known for his work with Amy Shark, Alison Wonderland and Eminem. "I was paired up with Mark at a songwriting workshop in Melbourne, early on in his career. We spent all day in the Abbotsford Convent, drinking wine and making music." Having returned to her hometown of Melbourne in late 2017 with a freshly signed publishing deal with Kobalt Music, Charlz had spent time in LA working with an international list of collaborators as intriguing as it is impressive. From Deadmau5 protégé ATTLAS, to UK phenom Maths Time Joy and Grammy Award winner Latroit, Charlz's quiet aura and creative magnetism allowed her to connect with some of electronic music's most elusive producers. At the end of last year Charlz debuted her single 'Feather' to a 5000-strong Festival Hall crowd in Melbourne, opening for US RNB superstar Khalid. Now armed with a collection of subtle, arty pop hits ready for release, the world is about to see what Charlz is really about. Listen for sleek and understated production, raw grooves and deep thoughts, expressed by a voice which traverses the octaves as lightly as a leaf in the wind.

Lost Frequencies & James Blunt - Melody

After the multi-million-stream success of Found Frequencies' previous releases, including the wildly fruitful melodies and raw vocals of 'Crazy', Lost Frequencies now announces 'Melody' featuring U.K. chart-topping singer-songwriter James Blunt.Drawing on his expansive electronic pallet and rare talent to pull in influence from outside the dance music spectrum, Lost Frequencies pays homage to country sounds by imbuing 'Melody' with melodic guitar strums and by twisting Blunt's soaring vocal into a unique loop come the chorus, which flows around the rhythm like a waterfall. Spotlighting a stellar vocalist-producer fusion in this merger of disparate sounds that has grown into a beautifully individual record, Lost Frequencies said of the release: "I've been a really big fan of James Blunt theses past years; I love his voice and music. To make a track together is something I wouldn't have even dreamed of a few years ago, but here we are. James sent me the demo he had of 'Melody' and I started working on it immediately. I did a bunch of different versions of the track until the final version was made and everybody loved it. It was a fairly quick process considering we were both gone a lot on tour and doing a lot of other projects, and I'm super happy we found a version of the track where both our worlds are perfectly balanced."Equally excited with the union and its productive results, James said: "I'd been in the studio writing with Steve Mac and Ammar Malik, and we wrote a song called 'Hey, Melody'. It didn't quite fit my album, but I loved it, so when Lost Frequencies approached me asking to work together, I was thrilled - I was already a fan of his and really wanted the song to be heard. He plucked the chorus, worked his magic and made a great summer track out of it."

Airwolf - Chasing You

Following the release of his debut EP 'Elevate' at the beginning of 2018, Melbourne producer Airwolftakes a step towards nostalgia with 'Chasing You', a convincing future house anthem.'Chasing You' is a slight departure for Airwolf, transitioning from bass-orientated instrumentation to an accomplished classic house angle with astounding conviction. A precursor to which could be found on the title track of his 'Elevate' EP, a looped up house jam with subtle refinement. 'Chasing You' expands out the piano riff, introduces a huge, huge, soul vocal and is nothing short of anthemic. Suited to summer in Ibiza to a road trip through rural Australia, 'Chasing You' is set to soundtrack to dancefloors and sunsets alikeAirwolf says, "The beat for 'Chasing You' was written while my friends and I were hanging out playing FIFA and because I kept losing I had some spare time, so I pulled out the laptop and made what is now known as 'Chasing You'. Fun fact – previously the track was known as 'Convertible'; I felt the song sounded like a couple cool cats driving with the top down. After a while of sitting on the beat, I knew it needed a really strong, epic voice to accompany the vibe and I got a couple demos in from singer/songwriters. I got sent a demo that blew me away from an Australian singer named Bonnie Anderson - her voice is incredible. I knew it was the perfect fit – her voice is so strong and powerful! I was so stoked I had a celebratory boogie in the studio."

These striking pop elements bring 'No Scrubs' into 2017, while Wendy Sarmiento's vocal delivery alternates between Spanish and English, paying homage to the original by keeping the chorus intact whilst bringing a Latin flavour to remainder of the song, giving listeners a bilingual twist on this popular 90's R&B jam! Complementing the final mix is Dropout's production that shines by fusing indie acoustics, pop structures, and electronic stylings together to create an effortless pop gem.

Accompanying the original is a driving tech house version from Alex Preston and some super smooth house flavours from exciting newcomer Hawksburn. Ilan explains how the track came together: "We fired up the studio and this number sort of cooked itself. Nothing was planned, but from the beginning 'Keep On Loving' just fell right in the pocket. It's not often that you get to use the full range of your voice on a track and there were times where apparently I'd make Fight Club faces reaching the big notes. We had a great laugh doing what turned out to be a pretty serious track. We love music for that. What can sound like a raging summer festival explosion on the outside, therein lies a delicate but quietly hopeful, tender little song when you look in."

PNAU - Go Bang (Remixes)

Jaysounds - Nightfall

JaySounds unveils the final pieces to his Nightfall EP. Accompanying the successful club singles 'Wasted feat. Enya Angel' & 'Crooked feat Kwame', Jay unveils Only U & Legion. Jay writes: "To me, Only U is my finest example of 'Warehouse Bass'. I started with the drop, but it felt like the track needed a theme. 'Cos it's Only U & Me' is almost a love story, but in its darkest, most messed up form possible. I've been opening my sets with 'Legion' for a little while now and it felt rude to leave it off this EP. The cinematic theme in this track reminded me of a legion of soldiers and I wanted to demonstrate a clear contrast between real music in the breaks and dark, dirty drops."

Miguel Campbell & Colour Castle - I Know A Place (Remixes)

Walker & Royce - Self Help

"If you want something done right, sometimes you just have to do it yourself". In a world filled with false gurus and misguided leaders, so goes the mantra of the New York duo Walker & Royce. After a swift rise in recent years – during which time they pioneered a sound that is often imitated but never replicated – Sam Walker and Gavin Royce have used this mantra as the impetus for their debut album "Self Help", on their label home Dirtybird. In order to grow, one often has to look inward, and the pair set out on a trail of self-discovery and advancement. Their journey has resulted in a diverse album that evokes a range of emotion and fervor, one that can be appreciated both on the way to a club as well as feverishly dancing to it in one. Walker & Royce's signature production is in exceptional form on their solo tracks, such as "Why Tho", "Warkin It", "Best Track Ever" and "Sunday". The way they contrast heavy, low-end bass and beats with pristine melodies arises from the first thing they ask themselves when they fire up their studio: "Will we play this?" The pair has also continued to push the boundaries of their minted formula for a bigger purpose, enlisting several distinct vocalists and collaborators to captivating effect. The legendary Green Velvet lends his vocal talent to "Rub Anotha Dub", and longtime friend Dances With White Girls appear on two memorable tracks, including the hit single "Take Me To Your Leader". Other collaborators such as Sophie Grophy, OnCue, Forrest and JPatt each introduce their own individual elements to the album, rounding out the varied tones and feelings that comprise the "Self Help" masterpiece. The road to self-discovery is filled with many bumps and obstacles, but with "Self Help", Walker & Royce have proven that they've got the keys and in the driver's seat.

Tommy Trash - Sinners ft. Daisy Guttridge (Remixes)

Tommy Trash's intimate house anthem "Sinners" receives some astonishing remix treatment courtesy of Australian legends Dave Winnel, Death Ray Shake, Kormak & Blanke. There's something for everyone here, what a package!

OFFAIAH - Run This Town ft. Shenseea (Remixes)

OFFAIAH, the mind behind the definitive club track of last summer, and ARIA Club Chart #1 hit, 'Trouble', now certified silver in the UK is back and collaborating with Jamaican up and comer, Shenseea. The instrumental version 'Run' has been heavily supported at specialist radio from the likes of Danny Howard, Pete Tong, DJ Target, Zane Lowe and has had repeat spins across Capital FM, KISS FM / KISS Fresh and was Mistajam's Hottest Record on launch and now has 295 spins at UK radio and over 2.5m streams on Spotify. Adding to the buzz, we're now graced with remixes from three of house music's finest tastemakers. Off the back of hits like Rinse & Repeat and Money, Riton kicks things off, adding his own spin on the already hot original. The one and only Magician steps up to the plate for a hearty addition to the package, firing in some nice wobble. Last but not least is Australia's own Airwolf, bumps up the bass while keeping the fun rolling. Impressive takes all 'round!

Luke Million - Come Together EP

The seven-track EP features an array of special guests including Sam Sparro, Last Dinosaurs, Fluir, Thief and more. The EP kicks off with the title track 'Come Together'. Premiered by tripe J, Linda Marigliano described the track as a "synthy extravaganza", and it harks to classic Luke Million synth and vocoder vibes. For 'Hypnotised' Luke collaborated with Australian group Last Dinosaurs following a conversation with the boys on a rooftop bar. Featuring Luke's fellow partner in groove, Touch Sensitive, on bass, the track captures how infectious the vibe can be when you don't have a care in the world. Track three of the EP, 'Alive', features vocals up and coming Melbourne vocalist Fluir. Experiencing an instant chemistry when they got into the studio, 'Alive' is about letting go of anything that might be holding you back. 'Return' to Transylvania' is a sequel to Luke's 2014 single 'Transylvania Disco'. Filled with vintage drum machines and at least ten of Luke's favourite synths, the track is a dark and hypnotic journey to the world of vampires and mysterious lands. For 'Killing Me Softly', Luke teams up with previous Triple J Unearthed winner Thief. Written about the rollercoaster of addiction, be that a bad relationship or otherwise, the track once again features Touch Sensitive on bass, and also Timothy Lockwood on guitar, bringing a live element to the song. 'Back To The Rhythm' is an upbeat groove that harks back to the days of Paradise Garage. Written with Sam Sparro in his adopted hometown of LA, the track is about going back to a time and place when everything felt good. The retro video was filmed between Los Angeles and Australia and was premiered by Flaunt Magazine. Luke surprised his fans during his Splendour set by bringing Sam on stage to perform the track live. The final track on the EP, 'Fear The Night' is a blending of two opposite worlds with Luke's signature '80s synth elements and the brooding vocals of Adelaide vocalist Jesse Davidson.

Kilter proudly hosts an all-Australian cast of collaborations throughout, with the exception of South African rap sensation Espacio Dios on "Treasure", who makes OkayAfrica's "Top 25 South African rappers under 25 killing the game". Opening track "Ritmo" is a tranquil preparation of delicate layers, that prepares for a leap into the timeless "Count On Me" ft. LANKS. Sweeping synths open Yaw Faso's bouncing verses on "Shut It Down", while "Shatter" shifts the mood to a late night dance floor. Contemplative tones soothe on the Woodes featured "Waste Time" and darker slow turning "Badai", before the high whistled call out of "I Hear You".Kilter: "The best way to make something new is to break something old - or at least that's what I have found with my music. The idea of pushing sounds until they become something different and exciting is at the centre of the creative process behind this album. Sonically, it's quite literally distorted in a lot of places while all the music pushes through the noise." Australian graphic designer and animator David Porte assisted Kilter in realising visual themes of distortion for the album's artwork. One of Australia's Top 20 Most Streamed Electronic artists, Kilter has quickly made the leap from burgeoning multi-instrumentalist to household name. Having recently arrived home from his first ever headlining US tour and smashing the UK/European festival season in 2016, meanwhile album cut "Shut It Down" has already been picked up on Germany's biggest youth radio station 1LIVE's, SiriusXM and playlisted by European specialists such as Martin Solveig, Moguai and Sander van Doorn. Presented by triple j and NANA JUDY, the tour runs throughout June and July, hitting all major cities and coinciding with his Splendour In The Grass 2017 performance.
